Lamb and Blue Rocks set to close series!

July 21, 2010

Myrtle Beach, SC – The three-game series concludes on Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. The man Baseball America ranked No. 1 on its “Prospect Hot Sheet” last week, southpaw John Lamb (6-2, 1.28), hurls for the Blue Rocks against struggling prospect right hand pitcher Zeke Spruill (0-2, 7.56). Lamb will try to extend his personal scoreless innings streak against the Carolina League Southern Division opponent.

Tonight the Wilmington Blue Rocks will attempt to stay over .500 and erase the taste from last night’s 9th inning lose via a controversial balk call. The Wilmington coaching staff has contacted the Carolina League office in protest of the base umpires call that allowed the winning run to cross the plate.

The Baseball Collector

My name is Zack Hample, and I've snagged more than 12,000 baseballs in the stands at MLB stadiums. I don't blog anymore, but there are hundreds of *amazing* entries here in the archives, so comb through those and make sure to find me on YouTube. That's where the action is now.
