July 24, 2010

Kinston, NC – Wilmington Blue Rocks managed to split tonight’s double-header with the Kinston Indians. The Blue Rocks lost the first game that was a continued effort from last night’s suspended game due to foul weather. However, two Wilmington pitchers combined for another shut-out victory in the last seven inning game of the evening of professional baseball at the minor league level.

Jairo Cuevas (3-4, 5.72) took the loss for the first game and Bryan Paukovits (3-2, 3.73) got the win in the second contest against the Cleveland Indians, Advanced Class A team. Christian Colon and Ernesto Mejia were the only Blue Rocks hitters with multiple knocks during the second Carolina League game
