Royals plan to succeed
Overland Park, KS – Despite having only one day left for the Kansas City Royals Fan Fest there is a genuine feeling from ownership, management and the coaching staff to succeed. Even with the occasional frustration from fans during the questions and answers part of event, the overall atmosphere seems to be optimistic by most in attendance.
The business of professional baseball can be hard for some fans to digest. The process of winning rarely happens without a plan and I believe the philosophy which the Royals have openly shared during the past couple of days should be celebrated with excitement over the immediate future. Winning is the goal and the continued improvements throughout the organization at all levels will definitely increase the chances for success.
John Lamb did not arrive until early afternoon today and quickly dove into the festivities. It’s not the first time witnessing him sign autographs but during the two sessions he and other Royals players signed well over 300 items. Some fans had multiple items during their brief visit with the professional ball players from the past and present. It brought me tremendous joy to watch many of them walk away with smiles.
Fan Fest has given me the opportunity to meet some of the current big leaguers on roster and the families of fellow minor league players whom I have not seen before. I stay grateful and honored to experience these opportunities associated with my son’s professional baseball career.
Saturday on the main stage at 1:30 p.m. a select group of honorees will be recognized for their efforts both on and off the field during this past season. Many more players are set to appear for the final day, so come on out and enjoy the activities and listen to the optimistic plans for the Kansas City Royals to succeed.
