No plans
Laguna Hills, CA – With the first Cactus League game for the Kansas City Royals scheduled on this coming Sunday in Surprise, AZ, we continue to get brief reports from John Lamb about his first big league camp experience as a non roster invitee. Just another Spring for my son trying to live his childhood dream playing professional baseball. Our family shares the excitement that has surrounded the Royals camp for the last few weeks with all the baseball prospect rankings, but I must be clear there are no plans to speculate, debate or predict this coming season.
Although we welcome discussions, via comments, about the plethora of talent throughout the Kansas City Royals organization, we would prefer to simply stand tall with our sincere appreciation for my son’s surge in media coverage. It is very humbling to acknowledge the success during these early stages of his professional baseball development.
Soon, John Lamb will pitch in a Cactus League game and ignite those competitive juices that have been bottled up since his last performance in the Texas League Championships. No need to dwell on the past. His job now is to show up…work hard…prepare to take the ball to the mound every 5 days and give the team a chance to win.
All conversations, we have had since reporting to camp, remain very optimistic . He feels good and enjoys the benefits of being around his fellow farm hands and big league teammates as he embarks on his third Spring since starting his career after the 2008 MLB draft. We are looking forward to what should be an exciting year for the Kansas City Royals throughout all levels of their talented organization.

Wishing you and John the best. I am looking forward to seeing him pitch in Omaha at some point!
